Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

No flying cars yet huh? OK. No anti aging pill? Alright. Teleporters anyone? No… no teleporters either. The powers that be have however managed to succeed in making a proper Star Wars movie on par with the original trilogy. Rogue One is that movie and I can be thankful we at least have that 😉  Continue reading Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The Butterfly Effect

First off, I’m not a big Ashton Kutcher fan. Not my type of dude or humor most the time. That being said, this movie is really awesome! Let’s throw the needle back a bit shall we. The “butterfly effect” refers to a scientific concept of chaos theory that says small seemingly insignificant causes can have massive effects. The term was coined by Edward Lorenz, an American meteorologist and mathematician, who noticed that small variations in his initial input of his weather models would produce a vastly different output. He made the comparison to a butterfly flapping its wings changing air patterns that would eventually have an effect on a storm system weeks later. So, is this a review or a science lesson you ask? It’s both! And stop interrupting me damn it!  Continue reading The Butterfly Effect

Probably my favorite shot in the whole movie. Such a perfect head splatter. Really done well.

I’ve always been a fan of the original “Dredd” movie in the way I’m a fan of the movie Commando. I know it’s silly, over the top, and insults my intelligence story wise, but it’s fun. The reboot “Dredd” staring Karl Urban (Star Trek, Priest, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King) and Olivia Thirlby (The Secret, United 93) is in a few words “fucking totally awesome”. The film takes itself much more seriously and is geared much more for adults than Stallone’s. Although I can’t argue with Armand Assante’s accent, this new version smashes the old one.
